Grape Variety:

45% Touriga Nacional

55% Old vines with about 50 years.

Origin: The grapes used to make this wine, came from the different parcels of grapes from Quinta de S. José which is situated in Cima Corgo, next to the river, from 100 to 250m of altitude. North exposition and very schist soil.

Vinification: Grapes are harvested, to 25 Kg boxes, at its optimal ripeness; intending to show a vigorous maturity, leading to higher aromatic and polyphenolic concentrations. After fully stalked and crushed, grapes are fermented in inox vat and lagares, allowing quality constituents presents in the ripe grapes film, softly pass to the wine. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in new and used french oak barrels of 400 liters for about 12 months.

Tasting Notes: Very deep and purple color, very complex and distinct flavors, where fruity and floral nature predominates with spicy notes, black pepper notes coming from the wood are well integrated and balanced with the wine. The palate shows balanced acidity, fruity nature, very good structure with great tannins. Good and long finish with a great balance. This balanced of power and elegance contributes to ageing potential, so the wine will benefit with some years in the bottle.

Serving: Should be served chilled at a temperature of 14/16 ° C.

Conservation: Keep in a dry place with a fresh and constant temperature. The bottle should be stored horizontally.

TASTING NOTES

Deep red-violet colour. This wine reveals complex aromas of ripe black and red fruit, with toast and spices. In the mouth it shows

great density, reflecting the softness of the tannins and a full integration between the spices and vanilla of the barrel and the berries notes. Concentation, balance and soft texture are obvious. Nice final, very long, with hints of fruit and cedar. High potential for ageing in bottle.
