ABANDONADO RED
Abandonado Red is a very special cuvee, only produced in the very best vintages. It resulted a wine with a huge structure, with an almost millimetric definition, super complex, rich but at the same time very balanced and elegant. And the vineyards character is, as before, very strong, with its typical eucalyptus, tar and dark fruits flavours setting the tone.

Colheita 2007 Abandonado red 2007: “Superb red. I’ve never tasted a better Portuguese red – it’s hugely complex, with a wonderful smell of smoky, wild black fruits, a fabulously silky texture and deliciously refreshing acidity. This gem is not overpriced.” (The Journal, UK, Jan.2010)
Exuberant in the nose, powerful in the palate, a recital of complexity and vigour. It gathers the best of ripe black fruit with the eucalyptus freshness. A diamond that time will help to polish. Rating: 9-9.5 (1-10 scale) (Público journal, Dec.2009)

- Tasting Notes: The fresh summers allowed an extremely gentle ripening and the grapes accumulate a large amount of phenolic compounds and simultaneously preserving fine acidity and varietal aromas. Resulted in a very structured wine with great depth and definition, very complex, dense, but at the same time full of poise and elegance. And the character of the vineyard is, as before, well marked, with the tone set by its unusual flavor profile of eucalyptus, tar and black fruit. Every year since we isolate in the cellar for the first time this came in abandoned times, better known by his vines and grapes
